Updated 1/22/04
If you have submitted information via forms on the SERC website and have any concerns about the changes in the privacy statement, please contact serc@carleton.edu.
SERC (Science Education Resource Center) is committed to respecting the privacy of those who visit our websites, and those who choose to subscribe or register for information, services, SERC activities, or SERC events.
SERC uses the personal information that you provide in order to record and support your activities within SERC websites and web-based services, to provide you information about SERC and related activities or events, and to support your participation in activities and events.
SERC, the PIs on projects supported by SERC, and other collaborators also use information from on-line forms (e.g. surveys, workshop registration, evaluation, feedback) for project evaluation and in scholarly work, publications and presentations about 1) topics in geoscience or science education and 2) SERC projects. The data are typically used in aggregate and no individuals are identified. In some cases, examples drawn from participants responses are used without attribution. In other cases, attribution is given with the individual's permission. You may opt-out of having information submitted in forms shared by contacting serc@carleton.edu at any time.
Information from SERC web logs contain Internet addresses which may be traceable to those visiting the site. The logs are used internally to create aggregate views of trends in traffic across SERC sites to improve the sites. Aggregate data may also be used in publications and presentations about SERC projects.
SERC reserves the right to change this policy. Changes will be announced via the website. You may opt-out of having information submitted in forms shared by contacting the SERC office at any time.
If you have any questions about this privacy statement or the practices of SERC, please contact serc@carleton.edu. Please include your name, address and email address when you contact us.
